Entries Announced For NCAA East Regional

LEESBURG, Fla. - Villanova All-American Shericka Ward has been invited to compete in the 2012 NCAA East Regional Track Meet. This will be the third East Regional Outdoor Track appearance for Ward. The accepted entries were announced on Thursday afternoon for the NCAA
East Regional and Villanova has 12 athletes in a total of 10 events
qualified for the meet, which will be held next week from May 24-26 at
Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville. Of the 12 athletes headed to Florida
the Wildcats will be competing in six running events and four field
events.

Senior sprinter Shericka Ward
(Leesburg, Fla.) is also a returning All-American for the Wildcats and
will once again be competing in the 100 meter hurdles. Her top time of
the season is 13.16 from the Texas Relays earlier in the year and she
has a personal best time of 13.12 from the 2010 East Regional meet.
Ward a two time State Track Champion at Leesburg High School. Ward also
helped lead the Lady Jackets Basketball team to back to back final four
appearances in 2007 and 2008.
Start lists for the NCAA East Regional are due to be released next
Tuesday in advance of the start of competition two days later.
